Panos Messis
Pianist, Orchestral and Choral Conductor, Teacher.
Panos Messis was born in Brooklyn N.Y. and he was raised in his family's native Cyprus. He began piano lessons in Cyprus at the Greek Academy of Music at an early age. He then studied at the Vienna Conservatory for four years and subsequently graduated from the Manhattan School of Music with a B.M. in piano performance. Right after that he attended Columbia University where he earns an M.A. in Music Education. He then attends the Aaron Copland School of Music at the City University of New York, where he earns an M.A. in Orchestral Conducting. He has studied under the guidance and supervision of prominent teachers and musicians such as Gertraud Kubacsek, Mark Silverman, Vera Wills, Anthony Newman and Maurice Peress. Since then he has directed and conducted the Aaron Copland Chamber Orchestra in the US and Europe and other renowned orchestras and choirs and  has given many solo piano concerts. He also dedicates a substantial part of his time teaching young students piano and music.
